We will perform a thorough teeth cleaning to remove plaque and hardened tartar from your teeth. You can brush away a lot of plaque with at-home oral hygiene, and your hygienist finishes the job by cleaning hard to reach areas and removing the tartar that can only be removed with specialized instruments.

If we find gingivitis, the early stage of gum disease, this cleaning, along with stepped-up oral hygiene on your part, is usually enough to eliminate it. Without treatment, gingivitis advances to periodontitis. If this is the case for you, we will recommend a deep cleaning procedure and then monitor your progress several times a year.
